Birth

March 7th, 2009 by Linda Jenkinson

We are conceived in darkness.
Sperm meets egg and growth begins
in sweet mystery of Mother’s womb.
A place of warmth where new sensations,
sound and touch are realized.

Nine long-months later,
we birth into a brighter world.
Looking with unfocused eyes
to find the smile that matches voice,
Arms outstretched to find
The comfort of her touch.

With new found voice we cry
Seeking solace for the loneliness
Feeling a vast emptiness
That threatens to imprison us

Until enfolded in her arms
The two again as one,
We hear her voice and feel her love
Our journey has begun

‘in sweet mystey of Mother’s womb’

Is it ‘mystey’ or mystery. Pardon me if I am wrong.
