Labyrinth

September 7th, 2007 by Linda Jenkinson
  • He twisted her and turned her round,
  • Led her deep into the maze.
  • Until no trace of home was found.
  • She circled, wandering in a daze
  • Until she reached the very core.
  • Looking up, in agony
  • She spied him watching from above
  • Laughing, cackling gleefully.
  • From somewhere deep within she found
  • The secret to her freedom.
  • With lightning stare, she met his gaze,
  • “You have no power over me!”
  • And suddenly as if unbound,
  • Pillars crashed upon the floor.
  • Fear aside, she dared looked down
  • There was no labyrinth anymore.
  • She looked around and smiled at last.
  • The labyrinth crashed from floor to dome.
  • With resolve, she stepped around the trash
  • And walked the path to home.
